480 thousand Eid 2026 tickets sold out, KAI Daop 1 adds 16 trips

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operational Area (Daop) 1 Jakarta recorded a significant surge in ticket bookings for the 2026 Eid Transport. For the period from 11 March to 1 April 2026, 480 thousand tickets have been sold.
Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, stated that the seating capacity prepared from the Daop 1 Jakarta area, particularly departures from Gambir Station and Pasar Senen Station, reached approximately 98 thousand seats on certain dates leading up to the peak of the homecoming flow.
“For departures from Gambir Station and Pasar Senen Station, seat availability on 11 March was recorded at 31,587 seats, 12 March 19,060 seats, 13 and 14 March each 9,186 seats, and 15 March 10,339 seats,” said Franoto in Jakarta on Sunday, 22 February 2026.

He added that for 16 March, 5,016 seats are available, 17 March has 2,127 seats, 18 March has 901 seats remaining, 19 March has 1,926 seats, and 20 March has 2,086 seats.
Meanwhile, on 21 March, 12,772 seats remain available. As for the period from 22 March to 1 April 2026, an average of over 20 thousand seats per day are still available for booking by prospective passengers.
Franoto emphasized that this availability data is dynamic. The number of seats can change at any time according to booking transactions or ticket cancellations.
To anticipate the high demand, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta is operating 16 additional trips during the Eid Transport period, consisting of 10 extra trips from Gambir Station and 6 additional trips from Pasar Senen Station.
With these additions, the total number of Long-Distance Train journeys operating from the Daop 1 Jakarta area reaches 84 trips per day during the 2026 Eid Transport period.
In addition to fleet expansion, the government is also providing a stimulus in the form of a 30 percent fare discount for commercial economy-class trains. This policy is expected to help the public obtain safe, comfortable, punctual, and affordable transportation during the Eid period.
