Amidst competition among world-class destinations, Bali once again proves its timeless appeal. The Island of the Gods was crowned travelers' choice for Best Tourist Destination of 2026 by TripAdvisor, an accolade born directly from global tourists' experiences.
Tourism Ministry's Marketing Deputy Ni Made Ayu Marthini called this achievement a strong reflection that Bali remains Indonesia's tourism icon, with profound impressions enduring in visitors' minds.
According to Made, this recognition resulted from positive tourist experiences documented in TripAdvisor reviews.

"Visiting tourists gained positive and memorable experiences in Bali, since TripAdvisor is a review platform capturing tourists' honest impressions in writing," she stated on Friday, January 16, 2026.
In The Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Destination List 2026, Bali claimed the top spot, surpassing renowned destinations in Thailand, Japan, England, and Italy.
This marks a significant milestone, as Bali had consistently ranked in the Top 10 without previously securing the pinnacle position.
"May this achievement motivate all parties to enhance and advance quality Indonesian Tourism," Made expressed.
The Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Destination List 2026 was compiled from global tourists' reviews and ratings throughout 2025.
Bali outperformed iconic global cities like London, Dubai, Hanoi, Paris, and Rome—destinations long synonymous with world-class tourism.
Beyond this, Bali's appeal shone across multiple categories: ranked 1 as Best Honeymoon Destination, featured in Top 10 Best Cultural Destinations, Top 10 Best Solo Travel Destinations, and Top 20 World's Trendiest Cities.
Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana extended appreciation to international tourists for their high ratings of Bali.
