The competition in Group F of the 2025 Africa Cup has been intense since the opening matches. The national teams of Ivory Coast and Cameroon both secured victories over their opponents on Thursday, January 25, 2025. These results have intensified the race for the top position in the Standings.
Ivory Coast, as defending champions, started the tournament positively by defeating Mozambique 1-0 in the first Group F match at Stade de Marrakech, Ouat Hassim, Morocco.
The only goal was scored by Manchester United player Amad Diallo in the 49th minute. This goal secured three points for Ivory Coast in their opening match.

This victory placed Ivory Coast second in the provisional Group F Standings of the Africa Cup with three points, while Mozambique dropped to fourth after the defeat.
Hours later, Cameroon claimed the top spot after The Indomitable Lions defeated Gabon 1-0 in another Group F match at Adrar Stadium, Agadir.
Etta Eyong's early goal in the sixth minute proved decisive. Cameroon successfully maintained this lead until the final whistle.
This win positioned Cameroon first in the provisional Group F standings with three points from one match, level with Ivory Coast.
Meanwhile, Gabon remains without points, joining Mozambique after both suffered opening-match defeats.
The upcoming matches will be crucial, not only for qualification tickets but also for determining the true dominant force in Group F of the 2025 Africa Cup.
