The FIFA Ranking update highlights the competition in Southeast Asia and how costly each point is. Indonesia remains in 122nd place in the latest FIFA Rankings updated Monday, December 22, 2025, with a total of 1,144.73 points. This stagnation isn't a major surprise, but the regional context makes it crucial.
FIFA's page states Indonesia's ranking hasn't changed since October 17, 2025.
Throughout this year's calendar, Indonesia's best position was 118th in July 2025, while its worst was 123rd in April 2025.
In Southeast Asia, Indonesia is the fourth-best country in the latest FIFA rankings after Thailand (96th) with 1,243.27 points, Vietnam (107th) with 1,189.51 points, and Malaysia (121st) with 1,145.89 points.

This is where the competition needle trembles. Indonesia trails Malaysia by a narrow margin—a reminder that one Match Result could reshape the landscape.
Behind Garuda (Indonesia), the gap is relatively wider. Below the Garuda squad are the Philippines (136th), Singapore (148th), Myanmar (163rd), Cambodia (139th), Brunei Darussalam (188th), Laos (189th) and Timor-Leste (198th). Yet the focus remains upward, not downward.
In broader Asian context, the power map remains stable. Asia's highest FIFA rankings belong to Japan (18th), Iran (20th), South Korea (22nd), Australia (26th), and Uzbekistan (50th).
Globally, the status quo persists. Overall, there are no position changes from FIFA's 1st to 33rd rankings.
First place remains held by Spain, followed consecutively by Argentina (2nd), France (3rd), England (4th), Brazil (5th), Portugal (6th), Netherlands (7th), Belgium (8th), Germany (9th), and Croatia (10th) in the top 10.
New changes occur at 34th place, currently occupied by Algeria, rising one spot from before.
For Indonesia, the message from this update is that the margin is real and thin. To leapfrog Malaysia and close the gap with Vietnam, every official match now carries immense value. One win could shift the narrative, one draw could lock in stagnation. At this level, details determine destiny.
