The Indonesian women's football team has finally secured their place in the semifinals of the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand. This confirmation came after host Thailand defeated Singapore 2-0 in the final Group A match on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

The additional three points made Thailand group champions with six points, while Indonesia locked in the runner-up position with three points.

For Garuda Pertiwi, this journey hasn't been without obstacles. They started the competition bitterly, suffering an 0-8 defeat to Thailand in the opening match.

Indonesia then rallied in the second match by defeating Singapore 3-1. After initially falling behind to Nur Farhanah's goal, Indonesia responded with three determined goals from Isa Warps, Claudia Scheunemann, and Aulia Al-Mabruroh.

That victory kept Indonesia's hopes alive until Thailand ultimately confirmed Garuda Pertiwi's runner-up status through their win over Singapore.

With the semifinal ticket secured, Indonesia prepares for tougher challenges. The semifinal match will be played on Sunday, December 15, 2025 against Group B winners, a position currently held by Myanmar (world-ranked 56th) with six points.

Competition in Group B remains unfinished. On Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 16:00 WIB, third-placed Philippines (3 points) will face Malaysia (0 points).

Meanwhile, second-placed Vietnam (3 points) will challenge current group leaders Myanmar (6 points). The results of these two matches will determine Garuda Pertiwi's semifinal opponent.

With rising momentum and historic opportunities ahead, Indonesia stands on the verge of significant achievement. The 2025 SEA Games could mark a pivotal turning point for Indonesian women's football.
