The world culinary map continues to evolve. Indonesia reaffirms its position as a global gastronomic powerhouse. TasteAtlas released its prestigious 2025/26 list, with Indonesian cuisine ranking 10th in the World's Most Delicious Foods, simultaneously claiming the top spot in Southeast Asia.
According to official data released Monday, December 8, 2025, TasteAtlas recorded Indonesia achieving an impressive score of 4.48 out of 5. This assessment compiled millions of taste experiences, though only 590,228 valid ratings were processed from 16,357 foods in their database.

TasteAtlas ranked 10 Indonesian dishes as most popular: satay, sambal, laksa, rendang, soto, ketupat, meatballs, fried chicken, fried rice, and gulai.
These diverse dishes best represent the archipelago's flavor landscape—a fusion of spices, traditional cooking techniques, and a long maritime civilization history.
Italy Leads Global Taste Dominance
In the 2025/26 World's Most Delicious Foods ranking, Italy reclaimed the crown with a 4.64/5 score. Pizza Napoletana, Tartufo bianco d'Alba, and Parmigiano Reggiano emerged as standouts with near-perfect ratings.
Behind Italy's triumph stand iconic producers and restaurants like Gardini Cioccolato, Domori, Osteria Madonnetta, and Pizzeria Starita a Materdei.
Greece secured second place with signature dishes including Finiki Lakonias, Fystiki Aeginas, and Kontosouvli.
Five traditional restaurants from Chania to Corfu drew attention for preserving authentic Mediterranean flavors.
Peru completed the top three, solidifying its reputation as South America's gastronomic force through dishes like Salsa ocopa, Aji criollo, and Pollo a la brasa.
Though now positioned 10th—down from 7th (2024/25) and 6th (2023/24)—Indonesia remains Southeast Asia's undisputed leader. In Asia, Indonesia trails only Japan (6th) and China (8th) for the 2025/26 edition.
