Barcelona reaffirms its emotional bond with Lionel Messi, the greatest icon ever to wear the Blaugrana jersey. The Catalan club is developing a special project to build a Messi statue planned to stand outside the new Camp Nou, serving as a permanent tribute to the maestro.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirmed the news in his interview with The Athletic. He stated that the creative and technical process regarding the statue's design is underway, though not yet finalized.

“We are working on the creation (of the Messi statue). Of course, Messi and his family agreed to the idea of making the statue,” said Joan Laporta, as quoted by The Athletic.

Laporta emphasized that once the design is finalized, the club will still seek formal approval from Messi's side before the statue is produced and installed.

“As Barcelona fans, we are delighted to pay tribute to Lionel Messi with a statue at the new stadium,” stated Laporta.

Immortalizing the Maestro's Legacy
