FIFA has officially imposed sanctions on two Indonesian national team players, Thom Haye and Shayne Pattynama, and the PSSI (Football Association of Indonesia). These sanctions relate to the match against Iraq in the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup Asian Qualifiers at King Abdullah Stadium, Jeddah, on October 12, 2025.

Through the Disciplinary Committee's decision, FIFA imposed a total fine of nearly IDR 1.2 billion on Indonesia. The largest fine was given to PSSI amounting to 50,000 Swiss Francs (approximately IDR 1 billion) due to supporters throwing objects onto the field during the match.

"Order and security at the match and throwing objects onto the field, fine of 50,000 Chf," stated the FIFA report.

Supporters' actions prompted Indonesian national team captain, Jay Idzes, to step in to calm the spectators and ask them to stop throwing objects. However, FIFA deemed the incident a serious violation.

Not only the federation, but two Indonesian national team players also received personal sanctions. Buriram United player, Shayne Pattynama, was fined 5,000 Swiss Francs (approximately IDR 100 million) and banned from representing the Indonesian national team in the next four matches.

FIFA judged that Shayne interfered with the referee after the match against Iraq.

"Violations committed by players and officials. Fine of 5,000 Chf. Absent for the next four matches," wrote FIFA.

Similar sanctions were imposed on Thom Haye, Persib Bandung's key midfielder, who was deemed to have excessively protested the referee. He also received a red card and was given an identical punishment to Shayne Pattynama.

"Violations committed by players and officials, unsporting behaviour towards match officials. Fine of 5,000 Chf and absent for the next four matches," stated FIFA.

These sanctions represent a significant loss for the Red and White Team as Shayne Pattynama and Thom Haye are confirmed to be unavailable to strengthen the national team for the next four international matches.
