Positive news comes from Lausanne, Switzerland. At the prestigious IF Forums sports event held at The Olympic Museum, several International Federation (IF) Presidents expressed their support for Indonesia to continue being trusted as host of various world sporting events.

This support emerged shortly after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board's decision recommending several federations review holding world championships in Indonesia. Nevertheless, the spirit to make the homeland a prime destination for international sports is growing stronger.

Global Support for Indonesia

Chairman of the Indonesian NOC, Raja Sapta Oktohari, revealed how global sports leaders demonstrated their commitment directly.

“Many International Federation Presidents came directly to us expressing their desire to continue holding championships in Indonesia. This proves Indonesia is not only geographically strategic but also possesses unique appeal and a strong reputation in organizing international events,” stated Okto in an official release on Thursday, October 30, 2025.

Okto explained this support signals the sports world's unwavering trust in Indonesia.

“We received backing from numerous sports federations wanting Indonesia to remain an international host. They're even prepared to advocate and support us in other forums. Whatever the situation, solutions must be sought that serve all parties best,” Okto emphasized.

Hosting Is More Than Status

Hosting world sports tournaments is no simple matter. Behind the spectacle of international events lies a lengthy process involving multiple stakeholders and significant responsibility.

“When Indonesia hosts, many parties are involved and substantial costs incurred. All aspects—from technical to logistics and broadcasting—must be thoroughly planned. International Federation Presidents recognize this, and they understand Indonesia's consistent commitment to maintaining the highest standards in hosting global sports events,” Okto added.

This demonstrates Indonesia's ambition extends beyond hosting—it's committed to delivering top quality and experiences for athletes, officials, and global spectators alike.

Sportsmanship and Reputation on the World Stage

For the Indonesian NOC, hosting transcends prestige—it's a moral responsibility toward global sports.

They affirmed continued dedication to maintaining strong relations with the IOC and all international federations, while ensuring Olympic values and sportsmanship remain the core spirit of every event held in the homeland.

With ongoing international support, Indonesia's sports future looks increasingly promising—not just as participants, but as a grand stage for new chapters in world sports history. (Antara)
