The 499th Anniversary Celebration of Jakarta City will be further enlivened with an evening Culinary Tourism Festival in the Glodok Chinatown district, Tamansari, on Saturday 20 June 2026. This event is expected to become a tourist Draw for local residents and visitors alike, who can experience Jakarta's night atmosphere while sampling a wide range of authentic Betawi and Chinatown cuisines.
Glodok Chinatown, long established as one of the capital city's legendary culinary destinations, will be transformed into a hub for food celebration and entertainment. Beyond showcasing specialty dishes, this festival will also act as a promotional platform for local Business operators.
Tamansari District Head Simson Hutagalung confirmed that at least 60 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) operators will participate in the festival, with the vast majority being local traders from the surrounding Glodok Chinatown area.

DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is considering making tourist destinations free of charge during the 2026 Jakarta Anniversary celebration.
“We will be featuring 60 Culinary MSME vendors specialising in traditional Betawi and Glodok Chinatown cuisine. For this reason, priority registration is given to traders based in the immediate vicinity of the event site,” Simson stated.
In addition to local independent traders, the festival also accepts participants from Jakpreneur mentored business operators under the West Jakarta Office of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives and Small & Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM), as well as mentored traders from all village administrative units within Tamansari District.
Simson outlined mandatory participant requirements, which include holding a valid DKI Jakarta Resident Identity Card and an active Bank Jakarta account.
All approved traders will be allocated stall tents along the north pavement of Pancoran Street. The south side of the road will remain fully operational for regular vehicle traffic to ensure normal community activities are not disrupted during the event.
“All vendor stalls will be positioned along the north side of Pancoran Street, while the south carriageway stays open for passing vehicles,” Simson clarified.
The organising committee has prepared supporting amenities for visitor comfort. Public seating and dining tables will be installed on the pedestrian walkway, allowing guests to enjoy their meals on location while soaking in the distinctive night atmosphere of Glodok Chinatown.
For visitor convenience, the culinary zone will be clearly separated into two sections: Halal Culinary and non-halal. This division is intended to help guests easily select food that matches their individual needs and preferences.
The Glodok Evening Culinary Tourism Festival is scheduled to run from 14:00 WIB until 23:00 WIB. Alongside the food offerings, visitors will also be treated to a lineup of live entertainment performances to celebrate Jakarta's anniversary.
“Throughout the event duration, guests will enjoy various staged performances. There are also confirmed plans for guest artist appearances,” he concluded.
