The public will have the opportunity to visit various tourist destinations free of charge as part of celebrations for the 499th Anniversary of DKI Jakarta. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing a number of special programs, including complimentary access to several popular tourist locations across the capital.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung confirmed that multiple tourist sites managed by the regional government are currently listed for consideration to have entry fees waived during the Jakarta anniversary celebration period.

Destinations under consideration include Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, Ragunan Wildlife Park, all museums owned by DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, and other public facilities such as city libraries.

"For all tourist assets owned and operated by the DKI Jakarta Government, we will also review them for free entry. This covers access to Ancol, Ragunan, official museums, public libraries, and all comparable facilities," stated Pramono in Central Jakarta on Saturday, 6 June 2026.

Alongside tourism initiatives, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also finalising a Free Public Transport policy that will apply for residents throughout the full anniversary event series.

While full implementation details have not yet been disclosed, Pramono confirmed this policy is in active preparation and will be announced publicly in the near future.

"Free use of all public transport services. We will make the official announcement when everything is ready," he noted.

Pramono confirmed that all anniversary programs will be publicly revealed before the main celebration date, which falls on 22 June 2026.

"All announcements will be made properly, we will definitely release full details right ahead of 22 June," he added.

In addition to public benefit programs, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will also officially inaugurate multiple long-planned strategic infrastructure projects to mark the anniversary.

Projects scheduled for launch include the completed revitalisation of the HR Rasuna Said Business district, the new KRL Commuter Line station serving the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) precinct, and the dedicated connecting bridge between the JIS complex and Ancol.

Pramono explained that these infrastructure inaugurations form part of the regional government's ongoing work to improve urban connectivity and public services for Jakarta residents.

"As part of this anniversary milestone, we will officially open several completed facilities. This includes the Rasuna Said precinct, the JIS KRL station, the Ancol-JIS connecting bridge, and a number of other public sites," he confirmed.

With all programs and infrastructure currently in final preparation, the 499th Jakarta Anniversary is projected to become one of the largest community events for capital residents. Alongside Free Tourism and transport access, the newly completed infrastructure will also enter full operation to support daily public mobility across the city.
