Champions League Final 2026 will see two sides carrying major ambitions face off, as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) take on Arsenal at the Puskás Aréna, Budapest on Saturday 30 June 2026. This fixture is not just a battle for Europe's most prestigious club trophy, but also a clash between two distinct, impressive playing philosophies that have defined the entire campaign.
Per Opta supercomputer forecasts, Paris Saint-Germain hold a 56% chance of successfully retaining their Champions League title. Arsenal meanwhile carry a 44% probability of completing a historic domestic and European double by adding the Champions League to their Premier League crown this season.
PSG are poised to become the first club outside of Real Madrid to defend the Champions League title in the modern era of the competition, which began in 1992-93. Prior to this, only Real Madrid have achieved this feat, most famously lifting the trophy three consecutive times between the 2015-16 and 2017-18 seasons.

Arsenal by contrast are chasing the first Champions League trophy in the club's 137 year history. Should they emerge victorious, The Gunners will become the 25th club ever to win Europe's elite competition, as well as joining the short list of English sides that have won both the top domestic league and Champions League in a single season.
Only three English clubs have ever pulled off this double: Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City.
Arsenal's Record Breaking Defensive Form
Arsenal have reached their first Champions League final in 20 years off the back of a historic defensive campaign. Mikel Arteta's side conceded just six goals across 14 Champions League matches this season, averaging only 0.43 goals conceded per fixture.
The Gunners are also the only team remaining that have not conceded a single goal from open play at any point during this season's knockout stages.
The rock solid centre back partnership of Gabriel Magalhães and William Saliba has allowed goalkeeper David Raya to register nine clean sheets in the Champions League this campaign.
Alongside their defensive resilience, Arsenal also remain the only undefeated side left in this season's competition.
In attack, Arteta will place heavy reliance on Bukayo Saka. The English winger holds an exceptional record against French opposition, registering 5 goals and 3 assists across 6 prior Champions League matches against Ligue 1 clubs.
PSG's Prolific Attack Will Test Arsenal's Backline
Arsenal will face a devastatingly productive PSG frontline. Luis Enrique's side scored 44 goals on their run to the final, the second highest total ever recorded in a single Champions League season, bettered only by FC Barcelona's 45 goal haul in 1999-00.
PSG's form has been spearheaded by the outstanding Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian winger has registered more goal contributions than any other player in this season's knockout stages, with 7 goals and 3 assists.
Kvaratskhelia also made history as the first player ever to register either a goal or an assist in seven consecutive Champions League knockout appearances within a single season.
PSG also hold a formidable recent record against English sides, having won five straight knockout ties against Premier League opposition over the last two campaigns, eliminating Liverpool, Aston Villa, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in that run.
Nevertheless, Arsenal carry their own momentum into the final. They defeated PSG 2-0 during last season's group stage, and arrive at this fixture with winning mentality having dominated the English domestic league all season.
Across 10,000 match simulations run by Opta, PSG win inside regular 90 minutes in 43.5% of scenarios, while Arsenal win inside normal time in 29.7% of projections. The remaining 26.8% of matches are forecast to go to extra time and a penalty shootout.
