In the heart of Samarkand, Uzbekistan's legendary city on the ancient Silk Road, Hotel Kampoeng Indonesia officially launched with a soft opening at the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex. This three-star hotel becomes the first accommodation in the continuously developing religious area, increasingly visited by Domestic Tourists and international travelers.
The presence of this three-star hotel not only expands lodging options but also marks a meeting point for two cultures separated by thousands of kilometers.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev welcomed the presence of Hotel Kampoeng Indonesia, built by investors from Indonesia.

Beyond contributing to the development of the local Tourism sector and economy, the hotel's presence also symbolizes strengthened bilateral relations BETWEEN Indonesia and Uzbekistan.
Located in a historically significant area, the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex spans approximately 45 hectares and has evolved into Samarkand's primary Religious Tourism icon.
With daily visitor capacity reaching 65,000 people, this area requires infrastructure capable of supporting pilgrims' comfort.
This is where Hotel Kampoeng Indonesia steps in. For travelers coming on pilgrimage, the hotel offers a strategic location.
The soft opening ceremony featured a ribbon-cutting by Indonesian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Siti Ruhaini Dzuhayatin alongside Samarkand Deputy Governor Rustam Kobilov and EGI Resources CEO Erslan Gazali Ibrahim.
Yet this opening felt like more than a Business ceremony. Indonesian cultural elements emerged through Legong dance, archipelago performances, and angklung shows warmly received by guests.
When guests collectively played the angklung, the event space transformed into a vibrant, warm cultural bridge.
Culinary offerings like rendang and tongseng completed the experience, bringing Nusantara kitchen aromas to Central Asia's heart. Earlier events commenced with a tumpeng rice-cutting ceremony symbolizing gratitude.
This hotel forms part of EGI Resources' commitment to expanding global Business networks, particularly in Tourism and hospitality. Furthermore, the project is designed as a mutually beneficial Business model.
Overseas-managed Tourism activities and accommodations maintain strategic connections with Indonesia's economic ecosystem. Economic benefits are expected to flow back through national business actors, services, and supply chains.
