Dominance of Aryna Sabalenka at the pinnacle of world tennis continues. The Belarusian Tennis Player has now recorded 77 consecutive weeks as the women's world No.1. This marks an important milestone affirming her consistency at the highest level.
According to the WTA, Sabalenka rises to 11th place in the all-time list of female tennis players with the longest consecutive period as world No.1.
This achievement feels even more special as Sabalenka surpasses the record held by tennis legend Chris Evert, who was previously one of the icons of the 1970s era.

However, Sabalenka's path to breaking into the all-time top 10 remains challenging. She must surpass the record held by Martina Hingis, who occupies 10th place with 80 consecutive weeks as world No.1 during the 1997-1998 period.
Two big names, Steffi Graf and Serena Williams, still lead that elite list with a record 186 consecutive weeks at the world summit.
Behind them are Martina Navratilova with 156 weeks and Ashleigh Barty with 114 weeks.
Looking at her performance in the 2026 season, Sabalenka has a great chance to continue climbing. She started the year with an impressive record of 23 wins and only one loss, securing three titles.
Her season began with a title in Brisbane before suffering her only loss this year when facing Elena Rybakina in the Australian Open final.
After a brief absence from Middle Eastern tournaments in February, Sabalenka returned with explosive form, winning Indian Wells for the first time and successfully defending her Miami Open title consecutively.
During 12 consecutive victories in the "Double Sunshine" series, Sabalenka performed almost flawlessly. She lost only two sets and has overall won 47 out of 51 sets throughout this season.
Not only that, she also leads the Race to the WTA Finals standings, reinforcing her status as this season's most consistent player.
Next, Sabalenka will shift her focus to the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart. Though she has never lifted the trophy there, she has reached the final four times.
