The intimidating atmosphere of Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno did not shake the confidence of the St Kitts and Nevis national team. Ahead of the FIFA Series 2026 duel against Indonesia, the visiting team ignored external factors like fan support and differences in FIFA Ranking.

St Kitts and Nevis coach, Marcelo Augusto Silva Serrano, firmly stated that his team does not consider pressure from the stands or their position in the world rankings as determining factors. The main focus is instead on mental readiness and the individual quality of the players.

The Indonesia vs St Kitts and Nevis match will take place at Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, on Friday, March 27.

This match is predicted to be packed with tens of thousands of home supporters. However, Serrano views that situation from a different perspective. He believes his players are accustomed to performing on big stages, even in European competitions that present a similar atmosphere.

"We have players who play in European leagues and are used to performing in stadiums with 20 thousand to 70 thousand spectators," said Serrano at a press conference at Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, on Thursday.

This statement affirms that the pressure from Indonesian supporters will not be a decisive factor for his team.

Rather than fixating on numbers, Serrano chooses a humanistic approach to build his team's mentality. He refuses to use the FIFA Ranking as the main measure of strength.

"We don't look at the numbers first. Numbers are just a mathematical equation. We look at the people," he said.

Currently, St Kitts and Nevis are ranked 154th in FIFA, while Indonesia occupies the 121st position.

Although quite far apart, Serrano is confident this difference does not reflect the reality on the field.

With thorough preparation and high confidence, he believes his team still has a chance to compete, even to create an upset.

Similar optimism was echoed by player representative Julani Archibald. He asserted that his team has come not just to compete, but with the big ambition to thwart the host's hopes.

"We came here to spoil the party. We don't care How many people are in the stands," said Archibald.

The winner of this match will advance to face the winner of the Bulgaria vs Solomon Islands duel on Monday, March 30.
