For those of you who love Traveling, there's proud news that also makes the flying experience more comfortable. Soekarno-Hatta International Airport has officially entered the ranks of the world's best airports, securing 22nd place in the 2026 Skytrax rankings.
This achievement was announced at the World Airport Awards 2026 held in London on March 18, 2026. For Travelers, this isn't just a number; it's a signal that the flying experience from Indonesia is truly upgraded.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport's General Manager, Heru Karyadi, called this achievement one of the most prestigious recognitions in the global aviation industry.
"With this 22nd position, Soetta Airport has risen from 25th place the previous year. This achievement is one of the most prestigious in the global airport industry," said Heru.
This assessment wasn't arbitrary. Through the World Airport Survey, passengers from over 100 countries directly rated their experiences, covering everything from check-in and transit to facilities and immigration services. This means the ranking genuinely represents the experience of global travelers.
"We are committed to continuously delivering the best experience and improving service quality in line with public expectations," he stated.
For frequent flyers, the changes at Soetta might already be noticeable. From the increasingly modern new look of Terminal 3, the presence of the Dedicated Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F, to the renewal of Terminal 1C which blends contemporary concepts with touches of Indonesian Culture.
"We will continue various transformation and innovation programs so that Soekarno-Hatta Airport can provide world-class services that make Indonesia proud, with the full support of all stakeholders," he explained.
Over the past three years, Soetta's performance has consistently climbed—from 28th place globally in 2024, up to 25th in 2025, and now breaking into the world's top 22 in 2026. For travelers, this means the chance to enjoy an airport with more comfortable facilities, faster processes, and increasingly friendly service.
"This achievement is also inseparable from the support of all stakeholders, including regulators, airlines, Business partners, the airport community, and the public, who have all played a role in driving service quality improvements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport," he said.
Interestingly, Soetta also ranked in the top 10 for Best Airport Staff in Asia and Best Airport Immigration Service worldwide. This is a significant plus, especially for those who dislike hassle during departure or arrival procedures.
"Moving forward, through continuous transformation, Soekarno-Hatta Airport targets breaking into the world's top 10 best airports by 2029, while also achieving Airport Council International (ACI) Customer Experience Accreditation Level 5," he stated.
With this positive trend, Soetta isn't just Indonesia's main gateway, but is also starting to become a globally competitive transit destination.
