Liverpool's revenge has been paid. After a painful defeat days earlier in the Premier League, The Reds eliminated Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1 in the fifth round of the 2025-26 FA Cup at Molineux Stadium, early Saturday morning WIB, March 7, 2026.

This victory ensured Arne Slot's men advanced to the Quarter Finals while avenging the 1-2 loss to Wolves in the Premier League.

Liverpool's three goals were scored by Andy Robertson, Mohamed Salah, and Curtis Jones. Meanwhile, the hosts only managed to reduce the deficit through Hwang Hee-chan in the final minutes of the match.

Slot made four changes from the lineup that previously lost to Wolves. One of the most intriguing decisions was giving young striker Rio Ngumoha a starting opportunity.

Meanwhile, Florian Wirtz once again started the match from the bench after recovering from a back injury.

Liverpool dominated from the opening minutes. They controlled possession and continuously pressed Wolves' defense, but the first half ended goalless.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 51st minute. A quick counter-attack involving Salah and Jones was finished by a powerful Andy Robertson shot into the Wolves goal. 1-0 Liverpool lead.

Liverpool's momentum continued two minutes later. This time Robertson provided the assist for Mohamed Salah to finish from close range.

The goal was initially disallowed by the linesman for offside, but the decision was overturned after a VAR review. Liverpool led 2-0.

The Reds extended their lead in the 73rd minute through an individual effort by Curtis Jones. The English midfielder dribbled from the right flank towards the center before unleashing a flat shot into the corner of the Wolves net. The score changed to 3-0.

Wolves could only score a consolation goal in second-half injury time. A long ball from Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone was controlled by Hwang Hee-chan in Liverpool's defensive line before he beat Alisson Becker.

However, Hwang's goal wasn't enough to change the final outcome. Liverpool secured a 3-1 victory that confirmed their place in the quarter-finals of the 2025-26 FA Cup.
