The management of the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta has confirmed that the iconic capital tourist area will continue serving visitors during Ramadan. However, operating hours have been adjusted to accommodate those observing fasting.
During Ramadan, the Monas monument opens Tuesday through Sunday from 08:00 to 15:00 WIB, while the park area opens earlier at 06:00 to 15:00 WIB. Mondays remain closed for routine maintenance.
High public interest is reflected in weekend visitation numbers. Muhammad Isa Sarnuri, Head of Monas Management Unit, stated that on Saturday, February 21, 2026, total visitors reached 2,600 people.

Apparently Monas and Menteng have a 100-year age difference. This history is rarely discussed.
"From 06:00-15:00 WIB, there were 1,917 adults and 682 children," Isa said.
These figures show Monas remains a Favorite Destination for morning exercise, Historical Tourism at the museum, and enjoying Jakarta panoramas from the observation deck.
Besides Domestic Tourists, foreign visitors also frequent Monas. Isa noted the highest number of Foreign Tourists come from China, with others from Japan, South Korea, Australia, and the United States.
By Sunday morning (06:00-08:00 WIB), 285 people had entered Monas: 225 adults, 41 children, and 19 International Tourists.
"Foreign tourists included 6 from China, 3 from the UK, 8 from South Korea, and 2 from the US. Total 19 people," stated Isa.
This data confirms Monas remains a tourism magnet during Ramadan for both locals and foreigners experiencing Jakarta's atmosphere from one of Indonesia's most historic landmarks.
