Senegal advanced to the final after defeating Egypt 1-0 in the semi-final held at the Grand Stade de Tangier, Tangier, on Thursday, January 15, 2026. The only goal was scored by Sadio Mane in the 78th minute.

From the opening minutes, Senegal dominated the game. They created chances through Nicholas Jackson, Habib Diarra, and Lamine Camara. 

Egypt tried to respond, but Senegal's solid defense made it difficult for them to create clear opportunities.

Sadio Mane finally broke Senegal's deadlock in the 78th minute. The 1-0 score for The Lions of Teranga held until the end of the match. 

With this result, Senegal advances to the final, while Egypt must play in the third-place playoff at the Mohammed V Stadium, Casablanca, on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 23.00 WIB.

Morocco Reaches Final Through Penalty Shootout Drama Against Nigeria

Meanwhile, Morocco advanced to the final after eliminating Nigeria via a penalty shootout in the semi-final in Rabat.

Both teams played to a goalless Draw during 120 minutes, so the winner had to be determined by a penalty shootout.

Morocco had created chances through Brahim Diaz, Achraf Hakimi, Noussair Mazraoui, and Abde Ezzalzouli, but all were saved by Nigerian Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.

Nigeria threatened through Ademola Lookman, but Yassine Bounou performed solidly under the Moroccan crossbar.

Drama unfolded in the penalty shootout. Morocco emerged victorious with a 4-2 score after two Nigerian takers, Samuel Chukwueze and Bruno Onyemaechi, were denied by Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.

Four Moroccan takers successfully executed their duties. The four Moroccan takers performed well. They were Neil El Aynaoui, Elisse Ben Seghir, Achraf Hakimi, and Youssef En-Nesyri.

Meanwhile, the two Nigerian takers who managed to score past Morocco were Paul Onuachu and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. Morocco won 4-2 and earned the right to advance to the final against Senegal.
