Train Travel once again became the lifeblood of mobility during the Long Holiday of Easter 2026. From the hustle and bustle of the capital to Java's cultural landscapes, railway lines connected travelers to cities that never lose their charm.

Destinations like Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Purwokerto, Bandung, and Jember became favorites among railway service users again.

These cities form the backdrop for experiences, from historical alleys and distinctive cuisine to the warm embrace of long-unseen family.

During the 2-6 April 2026 period, PT Kereta Api Indonesia Operation Area 1 Jakarta recorded significant mobility surges.

A total of 340,496 people chose Long Distance Trains as their travel mode, confirming this transportation's appeal as the primary Holiday choice.

"From this total, 148,421 customers departed and 192,075 customers arrived in the Daop 1 Jakarta area," stated Jakarta KAI Public Relations Manager Franoto Wibowo in Jakarta.

Punctuality proved key to a comfortable Travel Experience. During 1-5 April 2026, departure On Time Performance (OTP) reached 99.7% while arrival OTP hit 93.3%.

Within this timeframe, 335 long-distance train journeys departed with an equal number arriving.

Departures peaked on 2 April 2026 with 37,309 passengers, followed by 34,730 passengers on 3 April.

Meanwhile, arrivals crested on 5 April with 44,542 passengers, remaining high on 6 April with 39,574 passengers.

Among travel hubs, Pasar Senen Station emerged as the mobility epicenter with the highest departures at 59,646 passengers.

Gambir Station followed with 44,629 passengers, while other stations like Bekasi and Jatinegara also served as major gateways.

Similar patterns emerged for arrivals. Pasar Senen again recorded the highest figures with 74,263 passengers, trailed by Gambir (51,426), Bekasi (27,524), and Jatinegara (21,886).

Not just long-distance trains, local services also crucially bridged short-distance travel.

Pangrango Train served 18,811 passengers from its 18,400-seat capacity, while Siliwangi Train recorded 8,597 passengers from its 9,540-seat capacity.
