Magical Atmosphere in Senayan

Tens of thousands of supporters from across the nation packed the stands, providing unwavering support despite Rain showers hitting the capital. Extraordinary loyalty was shown by supporters who traveled far from West Java, including the presence of Public Figures like singer Fitri Carlina, who headed straight to the stadium moments after landing from her Umrah Pilgrimage in Jeddah.
The presence of iconic figures, from a supporter dressed as Gatot Kaca to Persib Bandung legend Atep, further emphasized that this match was more than just a Football game; it was a stage for national pride.

Dominance Halted by VAR
Indonesia actually started strong from the first whistle. With 55% possession, the Garuda repeatedly troubled the Bulgarian defense through wing acceleration and set-piece schemes.
However, the momentum shifted in the 35th minute. The referee decided to review the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) following an incident between Kevin Diks and Zdravko Dimitrov inside the penalty area. A penalty was awarded to Bulgaria, and Marin Petkov stepped up as the executor, successfully converting his duty in the 38th minute, beating the Indonesian Goalkeeper.
Fight Until the Final Minute
Entering the second half, the match intensity heated up. Indonesia almost equalized through a golden opportunity by Ole Romeny and a powerful header by Rizky Ridho, but lady luck was not on their side as the ball only struck the crossbar.
The match was also marked by yellow cards due to rough play from both teams. Justin Hubner (39') received a yellow card, while on the opposing side, Martin Georgiev and goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov were also booked by the referee for their attempts to curb Indonesian aggression. Until the final whistle blew, the 0-1 scoreline held firm for Bulgaria's advantage.
Optimism Behind the Defeat
After the match, coach John Herdman expressed his pride in his team's progress. Although failing to make history as champions this time, John Herdman is optimistic that the foundation built is very strong for the future.
Support also came from Edi Mulyadi, father of Emil Audero, who continued to encourage all the players. For the supporters, this narrow penalty defeat does not diminish their pride. Indonesia has shown courage, dominated play against a European team, and proven that the Garuda now flies higher.
