Young Indonesian racer Indonesia's Veda Ega Pratama made history by securing third place at the Moto3 Brazil 2026 event held at Autodromo Internacional Ayrton Senna on Sunday, March 22, 2026, evening WIB.

The Honda Team Asia rider became the first Indonesian to achieve a podium finish in a Grand Prix event. He delivered consistent performance in a dramatic race temporarily halted by a red flag.

Veda finished in third position behind two CFMoto Aspar Team riders: winner Maximo Quiles and Marco Morelli in second place.

"Incredible. I struggled before the red flag was shown, but this is my greatest achievement so far," Veda stated in his post-race MotoGP interview.

He also expressed appreciation to Indonesian supporters who cheered throughout the race.

"I thank all Indonesians, sponsors, and family watching from home. This is truly amazing," he said.

Starting fourth on the grid, Veda initially climbed to third before contact with another rider dropped him to seventh.

His challenge intensified when he slipped to tenth position. He gained one spot after race leader David Almansa (Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP) crashed.

This incident allowed Quiles to build a significant lead over his rivals.

The race reached peak drama when officials waved the red flag on lap 15, forcing a temporary halt. After restarting for five additional laps, Veda resumed from tenth position.

Quiles maintained dominance during the restart to secure victory, while Morelli claimed second.

Veda capitalized brilliantly, methodically advancing positions until breaking into the top three and securing the final podium spot.

This result improves upon Veda's fifth-place finish at the season-opening Moto3 Thailand 2026 round.
