New Position Key for Jordi Amat, Indonesian National Team Defender Comfortable as Persija's Defensive Midfielder

Indonesian National Team Defender, Jordi Amat showcased impressive adaptation in his new role as a defensive midfielder when Persija Jakarta defeated Bali United last Weekend. He performed solidly in the midfield and became a crucial figure in Persija's gameplay balance. 

This marked the second time the Spanish-born player was deployed as a defensive midfielder, having previously played a similar role against Madura United.

Against Bali United, his contribution not only aided the defensive-to-offensive transition but also maintained the game's tempo. 

This performance earned him the title of best player in the match.

"Very happy, very happy to contribute, and I hope more victories will come," stated Jordi on the I.League website on Wednesday.

Quick Adaptation and Consistency as Targets

Despite receiving praise for his individual performance, Jordi remained humble. He emphasized that his excellent display stemmed from the team's collective effort.

The position shift from center-back to defensive midfielder demonstrates Persija's newfound tactical flexibility. 

With international experience and composure in reading the game, Jordi brings a new dimension to Macan Kemayoran's midfield.

The next challenge now awaits. Persija will host PSM Makassar at Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) this Friday evening in the Super League continuation.

Jordi hopes his positive performance will repeat and help Persija secure an important home victory.
