Persib Bandung will host Persija Jakarta in week 17 of the BRI Super League at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium, Bandung, Sunday January 11, 2026. The winner of this Classic Derby will take control of the provisional top spot in the 2025/2026 Super League.
Persib midfielder Thom Haye expressed high anticipation for this prestigious match against Persija Jakarta.
"Facing this crucial game, I feel extremely motivated. It's always special to play in matches with such energy and atmosphere. I'm certainly looking forward to this experience," Haye stated as quoted from Persib's official website.

He emphasized that facing the Kemayoran Tigers isn't just about rivalry, but also critical for Persib's future campaign.
"I've heard Persib versus Persija is one of the biggest rivalries in Indonesian football," said the former Almere City player.
"People talk about the passion, atmosphere, and how vital this match is for both clubs and their supporters," he added.
From the opposing camp, Persija captain Rizky Ridho vowed his team would give their all.
"Thank you to everyone who took time to support us during training before heading to Bandung," Ridho said.
"With your continued support like this, we'll fight relentlessly there," he added.
Ridho explicitly targeted victory from Bandung.
"I assure everyone here: we won't take this lightly. Thank you all – hopefully we bring three points back to Jakarta," said the former Persebaya player.
Both Persib and Persija currently have 35 points from 16 matches, just two points behind league leaders Borneo FC. A win would secure either team the top position and mid-season title with 38 points.
Despite statistics favoring Persib with five wins from their last ten encounters plus an unbeaten record against Persija under Bojan Hodak, this classic derby is predicted to be tight. Both teams are equally motivated to dominate the league summit.
