Aston Villa has been confirmed to visit Indonesia as part of their pre-season tour itinerary. The English club is scheduled to face Indonesia All Stars at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK Main Stadium) in Jakarta on the upcoming 1st of August.
This visit forms part of Aston Villa's international agenda following an outstanding domestic season. Unai Emery's squad concluded their campaign successfully by lifting the UEFA Europa League trophy, while also securing a top-four finish in the English Premier League.
"This pre-season tour is an initiative that allows Aston Villa to reach and engage with new market audiences in Indonesia," stated Ahmad Satrio, Head of Marketing Communication at Sound Rhythm, during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday, 22 June 2026.

Satrio revealed that event organisers are hoping Aston Villa will bring the majority of their first-team players to Jakarta. However, he acknowledged the final squad line-up cannot yet be confirmed, as multiple Villa players are currently on international duty with their respective national teams at the 2026 World Cup.
Meanwhile, the Indonesia All Stars squad will be composed of professional players active in Indonesia's domestic league competitions.
Alongside the main fixture, organisers have prepared a full range of activities to allow fans closer interaction with the Birmingham-based club. Confirmed agenda items include an official press conference, open training sessions, meet and greet events, Football Development programmes, community and CSR initiatives, sponsor activations, and various media engagement activities.
Anticipation for Aston Villa's arrival is expected to run high, as the club already maintains a fast-growing supporter base across Indonesia, most notably through the official Villans Indonesia supporters community.
This match also presents a rare opportunity for Indonesian football fans to watch world class players from Aston Villa compete live in person.
Several established international starters are currently registered with Villa: Emiliano Martinez for Argentina, Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers and Ezri Konsa for England, John McGinn for Scotland, and Youri Tielemans who is a core player for Belgium.
Additionally, Aston Villa defender Ian Maatsen, who represents the Netherlands internationally, is publicly confirmed to have Indonesian family ancestry.
Regarding venue preparations, Aston Villa representatives have already completed an on-site inspection of the GBK Main Stadium pitch. The playing surface was most recently used for Indonesia's international fixture against Mozambique on 9 June.
"He said the pitch condition is absolutely excellent," stated Rijal.
A. Rijal, Stadium Manager for the GBK Complex Central Management Authority, confirmed that Aston Villa's delegation gave a very positive assessment of the stadium playing surface.
For supporters wishing to attend the match, ticket sales will open on Saturday 27 June at 10.00 WIB, through the official website AstonVillaJKT.com.
Ticket prices are set between IDR 350,000 and IDR 2,250,000, excluding government tax, platform fees and administrative charges. Organisers also advised that allocated seat numbers will be announced closer to match day.
"We are targeting maximum possible attendance for this fixture, as this will be the first visit by a English top flight club to Indonesia in 10 years," Satrio added.
Upon completing their Jakarta agenda, Aston Villa will continue their Asian pre-season tour to Thailand, where they will face BG Pathum United at True BG Stadium, Pathum Thani on the 4th of August.
